Our Design Process

We understand that every project is unique and you may only need or want a designer’s eye for a day or a few hours. We are committed to being flexible in order to meet the needs of our clients. That’s why we offer a variety of a la carte services in addition to our Full Service Design. Our mission is to offer you an exceptional client experience and to help you achieve your unique vision for your space no matter what level of service you choose. If you’re unsure as to what you need, we can help you decide by booking a Complimentary Call with us! After our initial Complimentary Call, and if we have agreed to move forward, we schedule an In-Home Design Consultation which is usually the next step in the design process. Our In-Home Design Consultation is a very important step in the design process. It’s our opportunity to get to know one another, assess your needs and provide direction for your project - always seeking what’s important to you, what you love, what your wants and needs are. We start with a tour of your home, taking careful note of its form and function. We discuss your project investment and offer advice on an appropriate budget range to consider. The collaborative nature of the In-Home Consultation allows us to share ideas for your home with a broad perspective for bringing the design to life. During the In-Home Design Consultation, we offer conceptual ides for lighting, color themes and palettes, furniture placement, furniture ideas, window treatments, styling tips, etc. We also explain how we work, what to expect, how we work with contractors and trades, and to answer any questions you may have about our process.

An Overview of Our Design Process

  1. Complimentary Call

  2. In-Home Design Consultation

    Most of our design services start with an In-Home Design Consultation. This service can also be used as a One Time Design Consultation for the confident decorator who wants to save on service fees, while having access to expert guidance. If you plan to DIY the project but need a designer eye to make sure you’re on the right track, our In-Home Design Consultation is a great option. We’ll provide ideas and suggestions for design and style direction so you can move forward with confidence.

  3. Design Proposal Meeting

    After careful consideration of your project, we prepare a design fee proposal outlining the scope of work and present this to you either in person or Zoom, whichever you prefer.

  4. On-Site Analysis

    We conduct a thorough assessment and take accurate measurements of the space.

  5. Concept Design

    This is where the fun begins! We’re developing conceptual plans and drawings, color stories, gathering fabric samples, samples of hard finishes and creating inspiration boards in order to confirm the aesthetic direction of the project.

  6. Trade Day

    We meet with tradespeople and craftsmen and conduct a “Trade Day” to receive estimates and discuss the project with the craftsmen in detail.

  7. Detailed Design

    We are busy sourcing products, creating detailed floor plans and renderings, finalizing quotes, creating color schemes to prepare for Design Presentation Day.

  8. Presentation Day

    We present our entire vision with all the details of your custom curated space to you for your approval. The Furnishings Investment Proposal and Agreement is signed off, and the balance of our design fee is paid in full.

  9. Revisions Day

    We meet again to address any and all revisions made during the initial Presentation Day. We present the final design, review the budget breakdown, item by item, and ensure that the final design meets your approval.

  10. Procurement & Execution of Project

    We’re hard at work! During this phase of the project, we are meeting with builders, craftsmen, vendors, making site visits, tracking and managing all orders and making sure the project is trending on time and on budget!

  11. Install and Reveal

    A very exciting day! All items are styled and installed.

  12. Project Wrap Up

    We make sure any and all deficiencies are addressed within 14 days. During our project wrap up meeting, we ask for you to share your experience with us. We honor and respect your feedback.
